One Man Band

Johnny Martens began playing music at the age of 11 when he received  his first instrument, a saxophone.  Soon after, he began honing his skills throughout his adolescence , teaching himself other instruments along the way. It was not long until he started bringing his talents to the stage, joining various musical outfits at the age of 16 playing to large crowds at iconic local venues in Cleveland such as The Agora and The Grog Shop.  As his playing progressed he began to explore the realm of solo performance playing at bars and venues in Ohio with a majority of his performing taking place on the beautiful resort island, Put-in-Bay whilst being billed under the moniker "Gianni Martens Music". After a  couple years playing under that moniker he decided to perform under his given birth name, Johnny for the sake of less confusion in promotion and too pay homage to his late father (John) whom of which he is named after. Currently, his musical outfit entails that of a one-man-band, live recording his guitar and layering in drum beats, synth, piano and bass tracks while improvising with his saxophone. Every show is played with one thing in mind; too provide a unique and original experience in sound be it with cover songs or originals. Currently residing in Cleveland, Ohio, Johnny Martens' music is all over the map, but will still feel close to home. Booking details found on the site. Contact day or night.
